Your consultation
A normal initial consultation takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
You will be appropriately examined and investigations may be ordered.
We will discuss your expectations and agree a plan for anyt procedure you may need, and your aftercare.
Our discussions will be summarised in the form of a letter.
Follow up consultations generally last up to 10 minutes.
Your procedure
Minor operations are generally performed on a day case basis.
All surgery is performed in the operating theatre with skilled anaesthetists providing general, spinal and specialist regional anaesthesia as required.
After minor cases, you may be able to return home within hours of surgery, or occasionally require an overnight stay.
Your expected stay following a major procedure will be discussed with you in detail.
Your aftercare
Your safety and care is our central concern.
You will receive information about your procedure.
You will be reviewed by me and by relevant specialists in the immediate postoperative period, and at regular intervals until you are ready to go home.
Complications, although rare, will be speedily and efficiently dealt. You can make contact 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in these situations.
